Key West Prepares for Tropical Storm Helene: Service Updates and Community Preparations
The City of Key West’s Lower Keys Shuttle will suspend service on Thursday, September 26th due to potential high winds from Tropical Storm Helene. Key West Transit service will continue in Key West and Stock Island, but riders might experience some delays.
Key West City Hall will remain open for service on Thursday.
The John Jones Navigation Center (formerly KOTS) at 5537 College Road is available as shelter for liveaboard residents.
The City of Key West is providing sand at Boog Powell Court. Members of the community concerned about possible flooding are urged to help themselves, but you’ll need to provide your own bags. Shovels are at the site, but you must fill your own bags.
