Key West Connect

For those of you that may not know, the App Store on your handy dandy IOS devices actually has an App that grants Key West citizens the ability to reach the City at their fingertips! Community members that use the app are able to efficiently raise awareness about certain infrastructure issues on their devices. The system is suited to respond to service requests such as a notice of litter, a new pothole, public graffiti, roadkill, or others such as these. The App enables residents to efficiently report concerns directly to the City.
The App is called Key West Connect, and is powered by SeeClickFix. On the App it says, “Submit requests, see them get fixed, connect to your neighbors and local officials. Let’s start improving your community together.”
The City urges users to be aware that the App is for non-emergencies— for service requests and other related issues. Situations that require immediate attention and are of emergency status are to be reported directly to the police, because Key West Connect isn’t monitored 24/7. The App is easy to navigate, and also shows users the requests of other active users. This way, citizens are able to observe the activity across the island, and can tell which issues have already been reported. Users are also encouraged to provide the App with their email address, so the City staff can provide users with automated updates on the status of the reported issue as it is worked on.
The App is easy to use, and features with multiple categories of services, including trash/recycling/compost, streets, trees, sidewalks, and others. Within these categories are more specific choices which help users to zero in on their specific complaint. Users are able to include a location with their issue, as well as a picture and a description, in order to be as specific as possible. So, if you haven’t already utilized the App, we urge you to download it!
