Key West Association of REALTORS Former Executive Sentenced to Five
Years in Prison
Key West Association of REALTORS (KWAR), the Voice of Real Estate in Key West Thursday closed the chapter on a year-long court case involving its former
Association Executive Yadiris Wood. Wood plead guilty to the theft of over $279,000 in association funds and will be serving five years in prison, restitution, and 25 years of probation.
“Non-profit organizations like KWAR trust their executives to act in the best interests of their members without regard to profit and personal financial gain,” said Will Langley, President of
KWAR, “This defendant betrayed that trust by using her position to steal money that she should have been safeguarding, a decision that will now lead her into a prison cell.”
“The Association has put in safe guards over the last year to guard against any future nefarious behavior on the part of any staff or member said Langley. We feel confident that we have turned the
page on this chapter in our Associations history.”
