Key West Artisan Market Now Every Sunday Through April 18
The Key West Artisan Market, in cooperation with the City of Key West, will operate weekly every Sunday now through April 18, 10 am to 2 pm in the parking lot at Sonny Mccoy Indigenous Park, 1801 White Street, across from White Street Pier and the other side of the dog parks by the bocce courts. Each Market is themed and pairs with one or more charities to promote community causes. All artists who show at the event are carefully selected and must live and create in the Keys to participate.
March 28 “UpCycle/Recycle Edition” will feature Dee Dee Green, Key West Sustainability Manager, who will promote recycling ideas and activities. Many vendors will showcase items repurposed from reclaimed items.
On Easter Sunday, April 4 the Key West Home Brew Club will take center stage in the “Let’s Get Hoppy Edition”. Florida Keys brewers will be on hand with sampling and many vendors will have special Easter treats for the kids, as well.
April 11 we celebrate the “National Pet Day Edition” with the Florida Keys SPCA. Their volunteers will be on hand to collect donations and items from their wish list including Wet Food- Dog or Cat; Cardboard Scratchers for Cats; KMR- Kitten Milk Replacer; Dog and Cat Toys, Wicker Chew Balls for Small Animals. Guests are encouraged to bring their well-behaved four legged friends – the market is always pet friendly and right next to the dog park.
Finally on April 18 Mote Marine Laboratories and a few other important marine-centric non-profit organizations will be on hand for the “Ocean Edition” to help educate guests on ways we can protect our most precious resources in our waters and remind us we are guardians of the sea and all living things that depend upon it.
At every Market guests may enjoy bloody marys, mimosas along with a full bar from Great Events Catering, coffee, smoothies, natural juices and cut fruit, plus multiple food stalls offering eat-here or take-away. Shop a curated outdoor market offering fine crafts, art and jewelry from talented Florida Keys makers. Stock the pantry and fridge with fresh produce, artisan cheeses, seafood, honey, pickles, pastries, cigars, soaps and more. Attendees are invited to bring a lawn chair and listen to local musicians presented by the The X Key West and support the featured charities including Little Pink Houses of Hope who provides chairs and shade for donation and the Key West Wildlife Center who will be open for free tours.
Stringent safety measures and precautions will be in place to guard guests and the vendors who serve them. Masks are required, booths spaced out, social distance signage posted and the number of guests per stall limited. Key West First Legal Rum Distillery “Ruminizer” hand sanitizing stations will be at the entrances. Per city ordinance, masks are required when not actively eating or drinking.
The Market offers free entry and ample free parking in the Higgs Beach antenna park lot across the street. Guests are encouraged to ride bikes, BYOB (bring your own bags) and WYM (wear your mask).
