Joe Garcia Celebrates Labor Day at South Florida Union Picnic

Miami, FL—Today, former Congressman Joe Garcia attended the South Florida AFL-CIO’s Labor Day picnic to honor American workers and the sacrifices of the labor movement.

“Every American worker is better off today thanks to the work of unions and the labor movement,” said former Congressman Joe Garcia, Candidate for Florida’s 26th Congressional District. “In the last century, we saw huge advancements in workers’ rights and in the dignity given to working families, and it’s because of the efforts of the men and women in that movement. I’m happy to have spent the day honoring those workers alongside the groups who continue to advocate for those rights today.”

Earlier today, Garcia received the support of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and the United Food & Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW). The endorsements and Garcia’s presence at the picnic highlight his commitment to fighting for South Florida’s working families.

The South Florida AFL-CIO picnic was attended by members of many unions from all across Miami-Dade County.
