Impromptu Concerts presents Zlatomir Fung cellist Impromptu’s Rising Star Concert on March 13

The fifth concert of Key West Impromptu Concerts in our 50th anniversary season will feature Zlatomir Fung, He is  the first American in four decades, and youngest musician ever, to win First Prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition Cello Division. Zlatomir Fung is poised to become one of the preeminent cellists of our time. 

Fung astounds audiences with his boundless virtuosity and exquisite sensitivity. The 21-year-old has already proven himself to be a star among the next generation of world-class musicians. His impeccable technique demonstrates a mastery of the canon and exceptional insight into the depths of contemporary repertoire.

Fung will be accompanied on the piano by Rohan de Silva and include works by Ernest Bloch, Leos Janacek, Judith Weir and will conclude with the Cello Sonata No.2 by Ludwig van Beethoven.

The  fifth  concert of  the 50th Anniversary season of Impromptu Concerts is our Rising Star Concert in the Gail Munder Concert Series. Each season Impromptu Concerts introduces a new talent who, as we have seen in the past, rise and become prominent personalities in the musical world

The March 13th concert takes place at 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 13th at St. Paul’s Church on Duval St. Admission is $20 at the door.  Students are admitted free.  Due to the ongoing pandemic, facial masks are required; special 50 Year Celebration masks are provided.
