Guest Artist Designs New ONE HUMAN FAMILY Wristbands!
One Human Family founder JT Thompson has announced that the first batch of wristbands designed by a guest artist have arrived and are available now – for free!
The first guest artist, Joseph Cavalieri, lives in the East Village of Manhattan, and was introduced to Key West during a month-long art residency at The Studios of Key West in 2012. During that time, he offered a classes on painting, air brushing and silk-screening on stained glass. He has returned many times to Key West to teach these classes. Joseph seized this last visit as a chance to bring a bright, new look to the wristbands that carry Key West’s official philosophy, saying “I’m delighted to help spread the message of unity, equality and diversity!”
Joseph has professional design experience, art directing at both GQ and People Magazines, where he helped decide important things like the “Best & Worst Dressed List” and the “Sexiest Man Alive.” Now he runs CAVAglass Studios, producing spectacular (and often humorous) one-of-a-kind glass art and commissions. Josephs’ work can be seen at CAVAglass.com.
The new bands are a bright, fresh green color with a playful imprint in white… and were produced by Tom Sawyer’s Keyboard Advertising Specialties. JT points out that over 2,300,000 free stickers and 250,000 free wristbands have been sent out globally, to all 7 continents, including the South Pole! To get the new wristbands, visit 901 Fleming, second floor – and if you have a design idea for the next batch of wristbands, contact [email protected]. “Community support is essential,” JT adds, “and 100% of donations go back out as stickers and wristbands, telling everyone that Key West is the most inclusive city on Earth!”
