Friends of the Key West Library Present Naturalist Susan Cerulean Virtually February 1

The Friends of the Key West Library’s popular speaker series will present naturalist Susan Cerulean via webinar on February 1, 2021. All lectures in the 2021 season will be presented online due to the pandemic. Ms. Cerulean, who has been described as “one of Florida’s most celebrated nature writers, will be in conversation with Lucy Burdette (Friends president Roberta Isleib) as she discusses her newest book, I Have Been Assigned the Single Bird: A Daughter’s Memoir.

She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Eckerd College and received a master’s degree in horticulture from the University of Florida. She worked for an environmental organization and then as a lobbyist for an environmental group in Tallahassee before taking a position with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FFWCC). Her projects with the state agency included a Florida Wildlife Viewing Guide of top wildlife viewing sites.[2]

The lectures will be available for viewing following the presentations through the Friends of the Key West Library web site.
