Free Admission at Dolphin Research Center Locals DolFun Party Sunday, September 29th!

Grassy Key… Dolphin Research Center (DRC) loves our Florida Keys locals! To celebrate our collective community spirit, DRC invites everyone to enjoy free admission to the Locals DolFun Party on Sunday, September 29th, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wear your swimsuit to be eligible for a chance to win a free Dolphin Encounter swim program to be done that day and to play in the Sprayground! The event will feature food and beverages from Centennial Bank, music by the Stone Crabs and the Singing Policemen, shopping discount in the Gift Shop and plenty of fun.

Keeping in mind the terrible impact Hurricane Dorian had on the Bahamas, DRC has teamed up with the Marathon Lions Club, in conjunction with District 35N. Please bring items to donate for the Bahamian people any day in September as well as on that day! They do not need donations of water. Much needed items include: electric outlets (do not need to be GFI), flashlights, batteries, heavy work gloves, generators, canned food, pet food, baby food/formula, diapers, cleaning supplies, toilet tissue/other paper goods, rakes, shovels, brooms, mops, blue tarps, personal hygiene items, and more! If you wish to make a monetary donation, please make checks payable to Marathon Lions Club.

Founded in 1984, Dolphin Research Center provides sanctuary and a forever home to a family of dolphins and California sea lions.  Located at 58901 (mile marker 59) Overseas Highway, Grassy Key, Florida, the center is open daily for the public to see narrated behavior sessions and educational presentations, and to participate in interactive programs with the dolphins.  The nonprofit organization is funded by admission and program fees as well as by private donors and members. In addition to being one of the most highly respected education and research facilities in the world, DRC is the Licensed Manatee Rescue Team for the Florida Keys and is an accredited member of the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums.  For more information, visit the center’s website at www.dolphins.org.
