After enjoying a couple of drinks, who wouldn’t want some satisfying fare to remember long after the hangover passes. Frank’s Corner Kitchen, situated right next to BottleCap, has you covered! Located at 1128 Simonton Street, Key West, the recently opened restaurant serves a plethora of foods, from classic Italian, to finger-licking bar food.
After the previous restaurant at this location, Bad Boy Burrito, closed, Frank of Frank’s Corner Kitchen, took over and began to rebrand the restaurant. The new establishment opened about a year ago, right in the middle of the pandemic. On July 1st, Frank was finally granted the creative liberty to craft the menu to maximize customers satisfaction, and that he did. The menu started off with strictly Italian cuisine, ranging from pasta dishes to chicken parmesan, but after years of working in various kitchens, Frank knew the menu needed an upgrade. He began to introduce bar food, items that would attract the attention of the bar-goers next door. Some of the new items include fried ravioli, mac and cheese wedges, and fried mushroom caps, to name a few. Sounds good to me!
Frank grew up in and around different kitchens, beginning work as a bus boy at the ripe age of 13. He has resided in Key West ever since he was 10-years-old, and his upbringing afforded a rich and educational experience in the kitchen. He explained how his unique past has helped shape his entrepreneurial mechanisms, by stating, “I always thought, the way to get people in- is to do something new, something extra special, in order to really grab the attention of every local.” He goes on to describe the discounts that the restaurant is implementing. They offer local discounts to different people on the island, including a First Responder Appreciation Day, which provides first responders with a special, personalized discount. They also have discounts for teachers, and other people that aid the community. In order to find out more, visit their Facebook page, by searching FranksCornerKitchen on the App.
Aside from having a wide range of exceptional grub, what they are most famous and recognized for is their “BottleCap Beer Burger”. As described on their website, the item is, “a ¼ lb. hand-packed sirloin patty topped with bacon, crispy kettle chips, ‘beer-braised’ caramelized onions, ‘beer-spiked’ siracha cheddar cheese sauce and dill pickles, piled into a brioche bun.” I mean… are you drooling? Because I sure am. Make your way to Frank’s Corner Kitchen in order to try it out for yourself! And make sure you stop by BottleCap, too, it will be worth your while.
