Former Nonprofit Chair to Share Boys & Girls Club Fraud Story at Community Foundation’s Upcoming Board Training Program
The Community Foundation of the Florida Keys has announced that William Archer, former board chair of the Boys & Girls Club of the Keys, has been added as a featured presenter at its upcoming 2021 Leadership Success Academy (LSA). Bill will detail the story of the financial fraud that occurred at the Club during a four-year span and led to the arrest of its former executive director. The presentation, including lessons learned to benefit other nonprofit board members, will kick off the second day of the LSA training on August 20, which focuses in part on financial management.
The Community Foundation’s two-day signature “bootcamp” for board members is August 19 and 20 at the Tennessee Williams Theatre in Key West and trains individuals working with or serving in an advisory capacity with a nonprofit organization or other community group. The cost of the two-day program is $100 per person, or $200 for three people from one nonprofit, and includes all sessions, including the one with Bill Archer, course materials, and lunches.
Bill Archer joins a line-up of seven speakers including nationally renowned nonprofit expert Alex Counts, who will be traveling from Baltimore, servant leadership expert Dr. Susanne Woods, strategic planning expert Kimberly Matthews, fundraising expert Wendy Gentes, and the Community Foundation’s CEO and CFO, Jennifer McComb and Elizabeth Miller, CPA.
Registration is available at cffk.org/lsa or by calling 305-292-1502.
The Leadership Success Academy is made possible thanks to generous donors holding funds with the Community Foundation. Special thanks to Centennial Bank for sponsoring the lunches for participants.
