FLORIDA TAXWATCH ANNOUNCES INNOVATIVE WINNERS OF THE 2018 PRUDENTIAL PRODUCTIVITY AWARDS PROGRAM
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida TaxWatch has announced the winners of the 2018 Prudential Productivity Awards at a press conference in its offices in Tallahassee. Established in 1989, the Prudential Productivity Awards program is designed to highlight and reward state employees who innovatively reduce costs and improve services for Florida taxpayers.
This year’s Prudential Productivity Awards program received hundreds of nominations, and Florida TaxWatch is proud to bestow 170 awards to approximately 750 employees from 26 different agencies for their achievements and efforts.
“State workers rarely get recognized for their dedication to making sure Florida continues to be the best state in the country for years to come,” said Florida TaxWatch President & CEO Dominic M. Calabro. “Florida TaxWatch wants to ensure that the taxpayers notice the contributions of these hard-working stewards and that state employees get the praise they deserve.”
“The commitment of these incredible public servants to work together to build a better Florida means that state government can direct taxpayers’ hard-earned money to the vital services that make the Sunshine State a great place to live and raise a family,” said Prudential Vice President for External Affairs Michael McCann.
The program strives to encourage state agencies to work together to replicate the savings across state government. After employees receive their award, they are encouraged to work with other state agencies to implement their cost savings ideas across state government. For 29 years, thousands of individuals, teams, work units and partnerships have produced approximately $10 billion worth of added value as a direct result of award winners’ achievements and the replication of those achievements. Over the program’s history, its winners have been responsible for increasing inter-agency cooperation and expanding and promoting teamwork amongst state employees to bring savings to Floridians.
The program is a nationally unique public-private partnership between the state, Florida TaxWatch and the Council of 100. It is made possible, in part by the support of: Prudential, AvMed Health Plans, Capital Health Plan, Florida Power and Light, Florida Trend, Intersect Media Solutions, North Highland, Accenture, AJAX, Brandt Information Services, GEO Group, Kyra Solutions, Inc., Florida Network of Youth and Family Services, Publix Super Markets Charities, Waste Management, Wells Fargo, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, DXC, EY, Odebrecht, SalterMitchellPR, Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, Florida Institute of CPAs and Tate Enterprises.
“Like any vital enterprise, state government needs proficient, dedicated, and innovative state employees,” said Florida Council of 100 President & CEO Bob Ward. “What separates these individuals from others is their degree of innovation, productivity, exceptional dedication, and beneficial impact so that the state of Florida remains the best state for families and businesses.”
The Prudential Productivity Award winners will be honored on June 5th at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall featuring special guest FSU Football Legend and Heisman Trophy Winner Charlie Ward.
