“FLORIDA KEYS DEMOCRATS REMINDER: OPEN ENROLLMENT RUNS FROM NOVEMBER 1 THRU DECEMBER 15TH

The Florida Keys Democrats would like to remind everyone that open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act has begun as of November 1st and will continue only until December 15, 2017.  The Monroe County enrollee will have only 12 specific plans to choose from this year.

HHS’ data confirms that premiums will be considerably higher for 2018 coverage by an average of 37%.  The ACA’s premium subsidies, which are tied to the cost of those “benchmark” plans, will also be much more generous next year. The average subsidy, across all enrollees, will be 45% higher than it was this year.  That means subsidized consumers could end up paying substantially less in 2018 than they have in the past, and in many cases will be able to get more generous coverage for the same price.

Unsubsidized consumers will pay substantially more every month. For unsubsidized consumers plan premiums start at $542 per month premium with a $7,350 and max out of pocket costs to $1, 260 per month premium and $0 deductible based on a 35 year old male.  So it pays to find a plan that best suits your individual needs.
