Florida Keys Democrats are planning two exciting events for October

If you’re tired of looking at the same four walls in your home… and at the same artwork…two upcoming virtual events can help you change that!  In this serious time of Covid-19, the Florida Keys Democrats are planning two exciting events for October, both accessible from the safety of your home.

“Art & Orchids, an On-Line Auction,” managed by 32 Auctions, will be open from October 1 until October 14, and includes nearly 45 pieces of a variety of paintings and sculpture pieces from generous and blue-leaning Keys artists. The second part, “Art & Orchids – the Virtual Gala”  is a happy hour, Zoom auction on Friday, October 16 at 6:00 pm, hosted by Key West comedienne Stephanie Kaple, and offering a limited number of paintings plus unique driftwood orchid arrangements. The on-line auction is free, with just an email to register. A suggested donation of $20 will reserve your spot for the October 16th happy event.

Popular Keys musician and former Marathon mayor John Bartus will bring his musical talents to this Keys-type happy hour event, while fellow Big Pine Key musician Brian Roberts will help open the evening with his new, Covid-era song, “Angels of Mercy.” Local candidates from up and down the Florida Keys may be popping in too, helping to bring a Friday happy hour right into your home.

The focus of these fundraising events is to support Get Out the Vote and Vote Early efforts throughout the 128 miles of Monroe County.
