FKHSC Starts Upper and Lower Keys Playgroups, Funded by United Way of the Florida Keys
Monroe County, FL— In response to parent requests, Florida Keys Healthy Start Coalition is excited to offer Tot Time play groups for parents, caregivers and children in both the Upper Keys and Lower Keys.
Children will enjoy crafts, games, snacks, stories, music, guest speakers and more. Activities will be adaptable so any children ages 0-5 are welcome to attend with their adults. Parents and caregivers will have an opportunity to meet new friends with young children, ask questions of other parents and professionals, and spend quality time with their little ones. Join a play group at one of the following locations:
- Lower Keys: 1st Thursday of each month, 10:30 am, Gato Building, 1100 Simonton St, Key West
- Upper Keys: 4th Wednesday of each month, 10:30 am, Founders Park Community Room, 87000 Overseas Hwy, Islamorada (park fees waived for attendees during playgroup)
United Way of the Florida Keys is helping to fund these play groups. FKHSC is pleased to announce that they recently received a $6,000 grant from UWFK to help address the nutritional needs of young children in our community. Tot Time is one avenue that enables the Coalition to teach children and their parents about making good food choices and to assist parents with providing healthy snacks and meals for their families. Florida Keys Healthy Start Coalition would like to thank UWFK for their ongoing support of the Coalition’s efforts to give children the healthy start they deserve in life.
