FKHSC Invites Public to Quarterly Meeting
MONROE COUNTY – The Florida Keys Healthy Start Coalition (FKHSC) will hold their quarterly Coalition and Board meeting on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Iberia Bank, 12640 Overseas Highway Marathon, FL 33050, 10 am – 12 pm. Anyone with an interest in maternal and child health is welcome to attend.
The Coalition works to promote the health and well being of all pregnant women, infants and young children within the Florida Keys. Through partnerships with both the private and public sector, we serve families before, during and after pregnancy. Our philosophy is that every baby deserves a healthy start.
The Coalition is currently celebrating 25 years of helping moms and babies throughout the Florida Keys, and we assist 75% of the women who deliver babies in Monroe County. The Coalition also holds car seat events around the Keys, to ensure that children are being properly secured in DOT approved car seats and boosters, educating parents to be sure they are installed correctly. In addition, we offer education and assistance with breastfeeding support, child birth education, smoking cessation, nutritional guidance, bike safety, poison control, etc. The Florida Keys Healthy Start Coalition is the only entity in Monroe County specifically helping families before, during and after pregnancy. Feel free to refer to our web site, www.KeysHealthyStart.org for more information.
The meeting is open to the public and free of charge. Please RSVP to the Florida Keys Healthy Start Coalition at (305)293-8424. If you need accommodations to participate, call Rebecca at 305-293-8424 or email [email protected] at least 2 days in advance of the meeting to make your request.
