FKCC Invites Future Students to Open Houses

KEY WEST, FL, March 27, 2017— Florida Keys Community College invites prospective students and their families to any of three open house events at the following FKCC locations, dates, and starting times:

  • Middle Keys Center- Wednesday, April 5 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Upper Keys Center- Tuesday, April 6 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Key West Campus- Saturday, April 8 at 10:00 a.m.

Prospective students will meet faculty, staff, and current students and learn about academic and career training programs.  Additional information shared will include: financial aid and scholarship opportunities; learning support resources; and student clubs and activities.  Parents and family members will participate in a talk about guiding and supporting soon-to-be college students.  The regular $30 application fee will be waived for those who submit an application during one of the events.

At the Key West event, the College will introduce its new Associate in Science degree in Engineering Technology- Renewable Energy Technician.  Developed through a grant from the National Science Foundation, the new program features a specialization in solar, wind, and water power technology.  Classes in the AS: ET-RET degree will begin in August pending the expected approval from the College’s accrediting agency, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, in June.
