First State Bank’s O’Brien and Mench Celebrate 15 Years
First State Bank of the Florida Keys congratulates Jenny O’Brien, Assistant Vice President, Assistant Treasurer, and Charlie Mench, Treasury Management Representative II on their fifteenth anniversaries with the Bank.
O’Brien began working for First State Bank as a Teller in the Summerland Office. After graduating from the University of Florida in 2002 with a degree in finance, O’Brien joined the Bank’s credit department as an Analyst, and then became a Commercial Lender in 2004. In 2006, she was promoted to Commercial Loan Officer in 2010, to Accounting Officer, Assistant Controller, and to her current role in 2013.

In addition to her work at First State Bank, O’Brien is involved in local organizations such as the Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce, the Sugarloaf School Advisory Council, Key West Gator Club, and the Big Pine Vineyard Community Church.
Mench joined First State Bank in 2002 as a Lockbox Coordinator in the Operations Department and became Bookkeeper in 2003. He has held numerous positions throughout the Bank including Deposit Risk Analyst, Wire Room Manager, and Loan Projects Administration before assuming his current role as Treasury Management Representative II.
“Charlie always goes the extra mile for customers and teammates,” said Karen Goodwin, First State Bank Vice President, Treasury Management Services. “We are pleased to have a person of Charlie’s experience and caliber on our Treasury Management team, and excited to celebrate his anniversary with the Bank.”
Mench is an active member of numerous local Key West non-profit organizations including the Key West Chamber of Commerce, Key West Lodging Association and the Key West Business Guild, and is the Treasurer for both the Key West Attraction Association and Key West Sunrise Rotary Club Foundation.
