Fentanyl found in search warrant
A 43-year-old Marathon man was arrested Thursday night after Fentanyl, pills and more than $55,000 in suspected cash drug proceeds were found at his residence.
Christopher Benorise Williams was charged with trafficking in an opiate derivative, possession of an opiate derivative with the intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and maintaining a residence for drug activity.
Williams was also charged with sexual assault for which he had an active warrant in an unrelated case. Williams is a registered sex offender.
The Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, Special Investigation Division Detectives, Road Patrol Deputies as well as Drug Enforcement Administration and Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents conducted a search warrant at approximately 9 p.m. at a residence on the 2900 block of Overseas Highway.
Detectives searched the residence and Williams and found the following: 23.4 grams of Fentanyl individually packaged for drug sales, 7.5 grams of Oxycodone, five Xanax pills, two Suboxone strips and $55,607 of suspected drug proceeds.
Williams was taken to jail.
The sexual assault charge stems from a Major Crimes Unit investigation into a female’s statement to the Sheriff’s Office that Williams had sexual contact with her while she was underage.
