FDOT to close the Seven Mile Bridge for 30 minutes at 11 p.m. this Sunday, Oct. 27

This is complete shut down in both directions of U.S. 1

  • Traffic will be stopped at both ends of the Seven Mile Bridge. No traffic will be allowed on the bridge. In the case of emergencies, operations will pause to allow emergency response vehicles to pass.
  • A contractor with the Florida Department of Transportation is conducting repairs on the bridge.
  • These are highly technical repairs/operations conducted from the water. Weather — including wave action, rain and wind — will all impact safety concerns and therefore: scheduling.
