FDOT to begin closing the Seven Mile Bridge periodically at night starting on May 30
The Florida Department of Transportation will begin nighttime Seven Mile Bridge closures on May 30 for construction repairs over Moser Channel at Mile Marker 40 to Mile Marker 46.8.
The closures will take place between 11:30 p.m. and 4 a.m. with three expected closures between those times lasting about 30 minutes each.
Traffic will be stopped at the beginning of the bridge in both directions. Only emergency traffic will be allowed on the bridge.
The construction is expected to last six to eight months. Specific dates for closures will be displayed 48 hours in advance and at www.fdotmonroe.com
Furthermore: FDOT will begin single lane closures/alternating traffic between 8 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. prior to full bridge closures.
The Sheriff’s Office strongly urges media partners and residents to visit www.fdotmonroe.com before making any traveling plans.
Schedules may change due to bad weather or unexpected conditions.
