Fair Insurance Rates in Monroe (FIRM) conducts Citizens Post-Irma Claims Satisfaction Survey 

(March 26, 2018 – Key West) FIRM has developed a survey to measure the level of satisfaction among Citizens Property Insurance Corp. (Citizens) policyholders following Hurricane Irma. This 18-question survey asks policyholders about the speed and follow-up of Citizens’ adjusters, whether the property owners were satisfied with their settlement, and how any issues with the carrier were resolved. “The thrust of gathering this info is to pinpoint issues with Citizens as that is the carrier that FIRM can have the most impact on,” explained FIRM President Mel Montagne.

The survey can be accessed on FIRM’s website at firmkeys.org and FIRM’s Facebook page, and a link will be included in the March email blast. FIRM is a non-partisan grassroots organization formed to fight for fair property insurance rates for property owners and residents of Monroe County, Florida. FIRM was recently successful in securing a 2018 residential windstorm insurance rate freeze for Monroe County, which will save County policyholders approximately $4 million in 2018 alone. FIRM is currently awaiting a decision from the 1st Appellate Court of Florida that would permit FIRM to contest the 2017 Monroe County Citizens Insurance rate increases and the increases in those rates that were not frozen for 2018.
