“Earthday” Event calendar for Key West Tropical Forest
Thursday, April 21st at 12:30: “Birding in the Florida Keys” – Mark Whiteside, M.D., President of the Florida Keys Audubon Society, will present nesting and migratory species; with photos by Beryn Harty, KWBGS Docent. Meet at the Garden Chapel. Admission is free for KWBGS members and students; $5 for others.
Friday, April 22nd, 4pm – sunset: celebrate “Earth Day” with a BYO picnic dinner. Free admission to enjoy the nature park after-hours.
Saturday, April 23rd at 9:30 am: “Birding for Beginners” – basic how-to and why, lead by Tropical Forest volunteer and avid birder, Pat Ayers. Meet near the Visitor Center; gate opens at 9 for this event. Admission is free for KWBGS members and students; $5 for others.
Saturday, April 23rd Noon – 3pm: opening reception for Art Garden 2016. Meet the artist at the Courtyard event, then stroll the grounds to enjoy their earth-friendly creations displayed amid the greenery.
