DOH-Monroe Encourages Healthy Hand Washing Habits

Keith Lannon and Monica Grodzinski of the Florida Department of Health show Hunter and Foma, students at the Key West Preschool Co-Op, the proper way to use hand sanitizer at the Silverliner’s North Pole event on December 5 at Key West International Airport.  December is Handwashing Awareness Month; Cleaning hands at key times with soap and water or hand sanitizer is one of the most important steps you can take to avoid getting sick, spreading germs to those around you, and staying healthy.  Over 550 kindergarten and pre-kindergarten students were present at the event.  All were invited by the department to use available hand sanitizer or wash their hands—the preferred method of hand-cleaning—before eating their lunch that day.
