Dec. 19 Walk on White art stroll offers charming environment to shop local for holidays
One Walk on White art stroll event is set to take place before Christmas, on Thursday, Dec 19. The evening kicks off at 5:30pm at Key West City Hall, 1300 White Street, where art strollers can enjoy sweet treats and meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus along with the mayor and City commissioners. At 6:00pm the Key West High School Band will perform at City Hall, followed by a second performance down the street at Brenda Donnelly Real Estate 1119 White St.
Each Walk on White event benefits a local non-profit organization. At Brenda Donnelly Real Estate, WOW attendees can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a prize basket of goodies donated by area businesses, with proceeds benefiting the KWHS Band.
Encompassing the stretch of White St. running from Southard to United and extending along several of its cross-streets, more than 20 WOW destinations are available to explore, located in galleries, a variety of local business establishments, and numerous outdoor kiosks, showcasing the works of painters, photographers, sculptors, ceramic and mixed media artists, and artisan jewelry makers. Attendees can experience island architecture, exhibit openings, creative demonstrations, musical, literary and performance offerings, and libation and food samplings.
WOW events take place the third Thursday of each month through May and are sponsored in part by the Monroe County Tourist Development Council. For a list of participating locations and more information, visit www.WalkOnWhiteKeyWest.com.
