Curbelo Secures Grant for Monroe County and Key West International Airport
Washington, D.C.—Yesterday, the U.S. Department of Transportation released a list of federal grants for the state of Florida.
“I am proud to have secured a grant for the Monroe County Board of Commissioners. They are expected to receive $1.35 million to be used towards noise mitigation efforts to support residents surrounding the Key West International Airport. I am pleased that these funds will be allocated towards improving the quality of life for Key West residents.”

The question begs, ‘how’ will these funds be used? A different incoming flight path,
instead of cruising in over the most densely populated part of the island, so loud that people have to pause while speaking or not be heard…that would be a good start.
