COUNTY HOSTS PUBLIC INPUT TOWN HALL MEETINGS FOR FY23 STRATEGIC PLAN PRIORITIES

MONROE COUNTY, FL – Along with hosting numerous meetings with local rotary, chamber, and property owner’s association groups, Monroe County will be hosting five public town hall meetings to provide the public the opportunity to give feedback and input on the strategic priorities for the upcoming fiscal year 2023 (FY23). During the town hall-style meetings, hosted by Senior Director of Strategic Planning Kimberly Matthews, attendees will be able to take a live survey, see real-time results, make comments on current strategic priorities, and offer new priorities. The Board of County Commissioners will use the feedback and survey results to set FY23 strategic priorities at an upcoming meeting. The BOCC’s new FY23 Strategic Priorities will be used during the creation of the FY23 budget process beginning in June to align the allocation of County resources with the strategic priorities of the community and the Commission.

The public town hall meetings will take place:

  • May 17 – Sugarloaf Shores Property Owner’s Association – 6:30 p.m. at Sugarloaf Fire Station 10 (Open to the public)
  • May 24 – Islamorada Town Hall – 5:30 p.m. at Founder’s Park Community Room in Islamorada
  • June 3 – Middle Keys Veteran’s and Public Town Hall – 11 a.m. at Marathon Government Center
  • June 14 – Upper Keys Veteran’s and Public Town Hall – 11 a.m. at Murray Nelson Government Center, Key Largo
  • June 17 – Lower Keys Veteran’s and Public Town Hall – 11 a.m. @ Harvey Government Center, Key West

“These meetings give the community an opportunity to tell us what matters to them most,” said Matthews. “As we know, the world is everchanging, and the priorities of our community may have changed, and this is a great way to give our commissioners a feeling of what the community thinks.”
