County Commissioner Mayor Pro Tem Danny Kolhage to Resign Nov. 30, 2019
MONROE COUNTY, FL – Monroe County District 1 Commissioner Danny Kolhage, who is currently serving as Mayor Pro Tem, sent his resignation letter to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis today set to be effective Nov. 30, 2019. He cited personal commitments for the resignation.
The District 1 seat is up for election on the November 2020 ballot. Kolhage previously announced he would not seek re-election.
Before being elected to County Commission, Kolhage served as Monroe County Clerk of the Court for 30 years.
“I want to thank my fellow commissioners, the professional staff, all the county employees and the other elected officials of the county for the support they have given me during my term on the Commission,” Kolhage said in his resignation letter. His resignation letter is attached.
According to Florida Statues, after the Governor accepts the resignation, he will appoint someone to fulfill the remaining term.
