Constance (C.S.) Gilbert sort-of retired to Key West in 1994 after a life as a textbook writer, traveler, college teacher, actor, mom, activist, PR consultant and journalist–ultimately as managing editor of a small weekly newspaper in NJ. Her work has appeared in most all local publications, with staff writer gigs at both the Citizen and Celebrate!, and most recently as arts critic/feature writer for Solares Hill.
She is addicted to volunteerism. She was the founding chair of the Essex County (NJ) Advisory Board on the Status of Women, and has served on the executive committee of (and written press releases for) umpteen worthy local organizations and causes. She continues to fight for social and economic justice.
