Condolences to the family and friends of longtime past Commissioner and Mayor Shirley Freeman

The Monroe County Board of County Commissioners sends its condolences to Harvey W. Server and the family and friends of longtime County Commissioner and Mayor Dr. Shirley V. Freeman, who passed away peacefully in her Key West home on Saturday, April 6 at sunset surrounded by those she loved and adored. The commissioners wish to honor her years of public service to the citizens of Key West and the Florida Keys. In addition to serving the community as a commissioner from 1993 to 2000, she was also proud and honored to be a part of the Freeman Justice Center legacy and many nonprofits and community organizations. Her family is planning services and will announce them at a later time.
