Community Foundation Now Accepting Nominations for Unsung Heroes
The Community Foundation of the Florida Keys (CFFK) is now accepting nominations for its annual Unsung Heroes Celebration, recognizing the tremendous efforts of our community’s volunteers who donate their time and service to Keys nonprofits. All Monroe County 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofits are invited to nominate their Volunteer of the Year to be honored at a luncheon on February 7, 2020. The deadline for nominations is December 20. Online nomination forms are available at cffk.org.
The Lower Keys Medical Center is this year’s event sponsor. The annual celebration promotes volunteerism and civic engagement throughout the Keys. More than 1,300 volunteers have been recognized since the event was started 20 years ago.
Honorees will be presented with a Certificate of Recognition at the luncheon on February 7, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Key West Marriott Beachside. Two complimentary tickets are provided, one for the nominated hero and one for the nonprofit’s representative. Additional tickets are available for $60 per person, on a space available basis. More information at cffk.org.
The Community Foundation serves the needs and philanthropic aims of donors who wish to better the Keys. For 23 years, CFFK has been encouraging philanthropy and matching these acts of caring to the community needs. CFFK and its funding partners have granted more than $29 million to the community since 1996 helping residents from Key West to Key Largo through grants to our local nonprofit partners, scholarships and program services. CFFK currently manages over 150 funds and endowments for individuals and other nonprofits throughout the Florida Keys.
