Community Foundation Now Accepting Nominations for Unsung Heroes
The Community Foundation of the Florida Keys (CFFK) is now accepting nominations for the 17th Annual Unsung Heroes celebration, recognizing the tremendous efforts of volunteers who donate their time and service to our community’s nonprofits. All Monroe County 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofits are invited to nominate their Volunteer of the Year to be honored at a celebration on January 27, 2017.
The deadline for this year’s nominations is December 16. Online nomination forms are available at www.cffk.org.
“The community is greatly enhanced because of the good work our volunteers do for the community,” said Dianna Sutton, President and CEO of CFFK. “More than 1,000 volunteers have been celebrated for their invaluable contributions since the event was started in 2001.”
CFFK sponsors the annual Unsung Heroes event to promote volunteerism and civic engagement throughout the Keys. Honorees, who are presented with a Certificate of Recognition, will be recognized at a luncheon on January 27, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Key West Marriott Beachside. Two complimentary tickets to the luncheon are provided, one for the nominated hero and one for the nonprofit’s representative. Additional tickets are available for $60 per person, space available on a first come, first served basis. More information is available at www.cffk.org.
