COME GET YOUR REGGAE ON AT THE RED BARN THEATRE GALA
It’s party time, Mon!! And you’re invited!!
So spruce your dreds, wear your colors, and come on out for the Reggae Party Night benefitting the Red Barn Theatre, who are celebrating 39 years of bringing professional theatre to Key West.
The festivities get going at 6 pm on Sunday, February 24 at the Oldest House, 322 Duval Street in Key West. Dance into the party to the ska, dub, roots, and rocksteady beats of the HOB Steel Drum Band. Musical entertainment will also include the Jamaican/Caribbean music of local favorite Chris Case. The dance, good food, music, and hot times are set to last until 9 pm, leaving plenty of time to party on into the evening.
The Iron Chefs will be catering the event with full meal culinary specialties and desserts, and both a wine bar and a full bar will be available. In addition, the Hemingway Rum Company will be pouring their special brand of Rum Punch and other rum drinks.
And the Red Barn’s always-fabulous Silent Auction will again feature art, jewelry, trips, services, and gift certificates for restaurants, hotels, spas, theatrical events, and more.
“This is our only fundraiser of the year,” said Joy Hawkins, artistic director of the Red Barn. “A lot of people may not know that only about forty percent of our annual budget comes from ticket sales. The rest has to come from sponsors, advertisers, grants, and this, our biggest party of the year. It helps us keep the best of the best on our stage.”
Tickets for the Reggae Night Party can be purchased at redbarntheatre.com/tickets or by calling the box office at 305-296-9911. Cost is $125 per person and is all-inclusive.
So “Don’t worry…’bout a t’ing…’cause every little t’ing…gonna be alright…”
