CoffeeMill Dance Studio Fall 2019 semester schedule posts August 1, classes begin Tuesday, September 3
CoffeeMill Dance Studio, Key West’s premier instructional dance studio for over 35 years, kicks off their Fall 2019 semester on September 3 with a full roster of child/teen classes at their two locations at ‘The Annex’ at 804 Simonton Street and ‘By the Bay’ at 3340 North Roosevelt Blvd. #2. The full schedule will post online at coffeemilldance.com on August 1.
A cultural haven in the dance community, the Coffee Mill offers professional dance instruction to all ages and skill levels with weekly classes in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Tap, Lyrical, HipHop, Pre and Towards Ballet, Creative Movement, and Hippity Hop. Instructors lead with a blend of discipline and fun, allowing students to explore, enjoy, and grow while cultivating an awareness and understanding of movement, rhythm, choreography, and connection to classmates.
CoffeeMill is also home to Young Dance Collective (YDC), CoffeeMill’s newly-formed non-profit dance company comprised of student dancers ages 8-17 that have already garnered numerous awards at NUVO Dance Competition in Orlando. Led and choregraphed by CoffeeMill’s Ballet Director Joseph Goodman, the selected young dancers are offered an academy-like study and discipline with a rigorous syllabus in the Russian-based Vaganova technique as well as contemporary training and choreography with Kara Querio. They rehearse for multiple performance opportunities throughout the year, including street fairs, parades, nursing homes, Fantasy Fest’s Children’s Day and Coronation, and November and March performances at the Tennessee Williams Theatre. YDC will start classes and rehearsals prior to Fall semester. Those interested in auditioning should call the studio at 305-296-9982.
CoffeeMill’s two locations with three instructional studios have allowed them to expand their instructional offerings as well as support the development of the young company. They also offer workshops, private lessons, and performance opportunities, as well as recreational classes for adults.
Spaces are limited; register now to explore or continue the development of your child’s dance instruction in this fun and challenging dance program led by experienced teachers in a nurturing, supportive, and professional dance studio.
