Cash and drugs found during search warrant
A man and a woman were arrested early Friday morning after the Sheriff’s Office and federal law enforcement partners searched a Little Torch Key home that turned up more than $8,000 in cash/suspected drug proceeds and cocaine.
The suspects appeared to be making crack cocaine at the residence on the 28000 block of Julia Avenue.
Marcell Nance, 38, of Florida City, and Wanda Ann Blanco, 40, were charged with possession of cocaine, possession of amphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a structure for drug activity.
Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division Detectives, the SWAT Team and agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Border Patrol and U.S. Customs and Border Protection found the following inside the residence:
- $8,055 cash in suspected drug proceeds
- 23.3 grams of cocaine
- 8.2 grams of amphetamines
- A digital scale
- Pyrex beakers, spoons and other miscellaneous items used to make crack cocaine.
Two other people inside the residence were not charged.
Nance and Blanco were taken to jail.
