Calling All Singers
Keys Choral Arts, the area’s premier choral group, is pleased to announce the beginning of rehearsals for its 2020 Spring Concert.
All singers are welcome and auditions are not required, according to Tim Peterson, Artistic Director. Keys Choral Arts is a community choir and open to anyone interested in singing high quality choral music. “All our members need,” Peterson says, “is a sincere desire to make beautiful music and a willingness to learn excellent singing techniques in a professional and fun atmosphere.”
Membership sign-up, music distribution and dues payment of $135 will take place on Saturday, January 4, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (Parish Hall) at 11:30 am (Some scholarships are available.) The rehearsal will follow from noon to 2 pm.
The KCA second rehearsal is scheduled for Tuesday, January 7, at 6:15 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 2713 Flagler Ave, Key West. New membership sign-up will continue.
A third rehearsal will take place on Saturday, January 11 from noon to 2 pm at St. Paul’s Parish Hall. Subsequent weekly rehearsals will continue each Tuesday evening at 7 pm. Alto/Soprano and Bass/Tenor sectional rehearsal schedules will be announced as necessary.
Paul Hayes, KCA president, is pleased with the progress of this new non-profit organization. “On March 29,” Hayes states, “we will present our third official concert as Keys Choral Arts following the very successful spring inaugural and recent fall concerts. The March 29 concert will feature the beloved Gabriel Faure’s Requiem along with additional beautiful and fun music chosen by Director Peterson.”
