Businesses burglarized in Key Largo

Seven businesses at a flea market in Key Largo were burglarized between Thursday night and Friday morning.

Suspects pried off locks and forced open doors on trailers to access the businesses, which included Kris Watercraft Sales, Dolores Food Truck, Keys Vapors LLLC, We Be Smokin’ Barbecue, The Island Café, Florida Keys Fresh Catch and a fruit stand. All the businesses are located at the 101 mile marker of Highway U.S. One.

A few of the businesses were ransacked. Some cash was taken from a couple of the locations; most of the businesses said they didn’t notice anything substantial missing. One cash register that records the time it is opened showed it was last accessed just before 4 a.m. on Friday morning.

Detectives will be investigating.
