Books & Books Hosts Community Book Fair Celebration for Children and Families 

Books & Books at The Studios of Key West, an independent bookstore located at 533 Eaton Street, will host a celebration of books and community organized by May Sands Montessori School, a public school of choice, on Saturday, May 12, from 10am to 6pm. The celebration aims to encourage enthusiasm for books and reading and an appreciation of the literary arts in the community and the younger minds of the islands.

“We cherish our community partnerships and really appreciate their support,” says Jessica Pellegrino, May Sands Montessori School parent and this year’s book fair chairperson. “This is a great opportunity for people to come together to celebrate books, support free Montessori education in the Lower Keys, and to pick up that last-minute Mother’s Day gift!”

Celebrated author and co-founder Judy Blume is a driving force behind the nonprofit store, with her hand in ordering the best in new (and old) selections, featuring carefully curated books for all ages, with more than 3,000 titles of literary fiction, research, biography and more, and over 75 running feet of shelves.

Books & Books will donate a percentage of the day’s sales to May Sands Montessori when shoppers present the school’s digital bookmark from Facebook; the public charter school shows its thanks and support of reading by offering shoppers a chance at a $50 Books & Books gift card with each purchase using the bookmark.
