Beautiful Business Award

Commissioner Lissette Carey, Cody Shoemake, Commissioners Jimmy Weekley, Code Compliance’s Sophia Doctoche, Mayor Teri Johnston, and Vice Mayor Sam Kaufman. Commissioners Mary Lou Hoover and Clayton Lopez were in attendance via Zoom.

Mayor Teri Johnston and the City Commission have recognized the Dive Bar Shirt Club with the April Keep Key West Beautiful Award.

The award is recommended monthly by the Code Compliance Department for businesses that significantly improve their property.

The Dive Bar Shirt Club, located at320 Grinnell Street, was recently opened Cody Shoemake in 2023. Shoemake has owned the building since 2022 and wanted to make his establishment as unique as possible. The restaurant uses reusable aluminum cups instead of plastic, benefiting the environment.
