Armed motorist airlifted after shooting booked into jail
A 24-year-old man who was shot after pointing a handgun at law enforcement officers following a pursuit on U.S. 1 on July 18 has been arrested and booked into jail.
Julian Vaughn Thomas faces one count of attempted murder of a law enforcement office, one count of aggravated fleeing and eluding (speeding) and one count of fleeing and eluding.
Thomas was released from Jackson South Medical Center in Miami and transported to the Monroe County Detention Center on Stock Island Friday night.
Where Thomas lived at the time of the shooting remains under investigation.
