Sean Callahan’s acrylic on gesso board triptic, “Where the Nautilus Go,” whose panels each measure 12”x36”, is one of 54 works being offered in the 2021 Anne McKee Fine Art Auction, which is being held on-line this year due to Covid-19.
Anne McKee Artists’ Fund announces 26th Fine Art Auction, February 4-17
If we know anything from our collective 2020 experience, it’s that things change. That includes the Anne McKee Fine Art Auction you’ve always held in high anticipation.
This year you can expect to find fabulous works from some of our established local favorites as well as discover the talent of some exciting new emerging artists. As always, the auction is a great opportunity to add some unique new treasures to your art collection. But the whole affair will happen online, so it will be safe, convenient, and fun for everyone.
Online viewing and bidding at www.mckeefund.org begins February 4 at 5:30PM and closes February 17 at 8:30PM. If you would like to see the art in-person, the show will be available for viewing-only beginning February 4 at The Studios of Key West, 533 Eaton St., from 12-4PM daily with the exception of Sundays and Mondays.
Up for bid are original paintings, sculpture, photography, fiber arts, ceramics, mixed media, jewelry, and more. Collectors can choose from the works of celebrated and renowned local masters to fresh new talents.
Each participating artist receives 50% of proceeds from the sale of their work, with the other 50% going to fund grants for projects by local talent in the visual, performance, and literary arts. Founded by Key West art patron Anne McKee, the not-for-profit has awarded more than $330,000 to 400 artists since 1994.
“Think of all the galleries, exhibition openings, and artist talks that make our community so culturally rich. That only happens if together we support our art makers,” said McKee Fund board president Kalo Clarke.
