Animal Farm receives K9 Unit donation
Sheriff’s Office K9 Mako is safer in his new ballistic vest — a donation to the Animal Farm by Key Largo Veterinarian Dr. Robert Prosek.
Dr. Prosek is a longtime resident and supporter of the Sheriff’s Office as well as the owner of Florida Veterinary Cardiology. Dr. Prosek worked with Sheriffs’ Office Ocean Studies Charter School Resource Officer Deputy Lauren Landa to facilitate the donation.
“I want to thank Dr. Prosek for this great donation that will help keep K9 Mako safe,” said Sheriff Rick Ramsay. “Great partnerships with community leaders like Dr. Prosek make this community a great place to live, work, and play.”
Dr. Prosek has also donated ballistic vests to other K9 Units, in an effort to keep every law enforcement K9 in Monroe and Miami-Dade counties as safe as possible.
