CFK Tugas start season at Mike Horgan Memorial Invitational
KEY WEST, FL, October 17, 2024— The College of the Florida Keys (CFK) Tugas swim team kicked off their 2024-2025 season at the Mike Horgan Memorial Invitational held October 5-6, 2024, at Lake Lytal in West Palm Beach. The meet saw achievements from both the men’s and women’s teams, with 18 national qualifications and two school records broken.
On the women’s side, Teagan Lavin qualified in the 50-yard butterfly, while Isabella Oliverio earned spots in three events: 50-yard butterfly, 100-yard IM, and 200-yard backstroke.
On the men’s side, Kaemon Fagley qualified in six events: 50-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke, 50-yard butterfly, 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke, and 100-yard butterfly. Drew Lebsack secured spots in five events: 50-yard butterfly, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly, and 200-yard butterfly. He also broke the school record with his time in the latter two events. Lucas Montiel de la Nuez qualified in three events: 50-yard freestyle, 50-yard breaststroke, and 100-yard freestyle.
The Tugas will next compete Ava Maria University and St Thomas University at the Miami-Dade College North Campus Aquatic Center on November 2.
