Key West Employee of the Quarter

The City of Key West has named Finance Coordinator Martha Castro as City Employee of the 3rd Quarter.

“Martha is an outstanding employee,” wrote supervisor Jessica Durocher in her nomination. “She is smart, capable, and hardworking. Her attendance, work performance, and customer service skills are everything we could ask for.”

Her meticulous work uncovered several important issues over the past few months, discovering financial discrepancies by outside contracts that resulted in refunds to the City.

The City’s Employee Committee selects the recipient from the quarterly nominations, and the choice is approved by the City Manager. The committee consists of a group of volunteer employees who support local outreach, employee celebrations, holiday contests, and parties for the enjoyment of all employees.
