Man arrested for vehicle burglaries  

A 23-year-old Key West, Florida man was arrested Thursday for burglarizing multiple vehicles on Big Coppitt Key.

Elijah Paul Rivera was charged with multiple counts of burglary and petit theft as well as grand theft.

Six unlocked vehicles on Riviera Drive were burglarized on July 10, 2024, in which jewelry, prescription medication, sunglasses and other items were stolen.

Rivera became the suspect following a Sheriff’s Office investigation and most of the stolen items were found at his residence.
