Sheriff’s Office civilian employee arrested for domestic battery  

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Secretary Mercedes Evana Brittiann Reid, 34, of Cudjoe Key, was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office Sunday for misdemeanor domestic battery.

Reid reportedly struck an adult male with a cup at approximately 5:08 p.m. at a residence. There were no serious injuries reported.

Reid was hired on Jan. 24, 2022, as a civilian employee.
