Man arrested for fishing rod theft

A 31-year-old Boot Key Harbor, Marathon, Florida, man was arrested Friday for stealing three fishing rods worth approximately $500.

William John Redfords Ball was charged with larceny.

The Sheriff’s Office investigation showed Ball stole the three PENN rods from a vessel in Boot Key Harbor. Ball admitted he was attempting to pawn the rods when he was questioned by the Sheriff’s Office.

Ball was taken to jail.
