A SNOWBIRD’S FAREWELL

By Fred C. Klein

orig_blog_4291_0.png (338×350)Yes, we are “Snowbirds” (northerners who move to a warmer southern state to escape Winter) and we have been escaping in Paradise (Key West) for four warm, fun filled, months and, truth be told, as I write this, I am sad to leave.

But leave we must as Family and an alternative, full, abundant life awaits us in Springtime New York.

What will I miss? I will miss bicycling in bike friendly, flat, Key West (especially in the grave yard). I will miss my, fully devoted to fun, Albury Street neighbors (especially Bingo Jo). I will miss the “Twilight Zone” Chart Room. I will miss pre dawn con leche. I will miss monthly (raucous) Boys Night Out upstairs at Point 5 on Duval Street, hosted by lovely Heather Gatley (plus unexpected, explosive night caps). I will miss my 5:00 Cuba Libre on my front porch. I will miss fellow Syracuse alum, born again, Key West Lou. I will miss encountering random people saying “Good Morning”. I will miss the monthly “Walk on White” at the fabulous Harrison Gallery. I will miss achieving the 82 mile marker and look forward to much more…

Sametime next year 🙂
