Man arrested for fleeing after gun incident
A 38-year-old Key Largo, Florida man was arrested Saturday after threatening someone with a gun and then fleeing from the Sheriff’s Office. There were no reported injuries.
Thomas Roy Zinkand was charged with fleeing and eluding, aggravated assault, kidnapping, battery, and DUI.
The Sheriff’s Office was called to Arica Drive in Key Largo at approximately 1:05 a.m. regarding a domestic issue in which the suspect, identified as Zinkand, displayed a handgun, and prevented the victim from leaving. Zinkand but was spotted by the Sheriff’s Office in a Ford pickup truck near Mile Marker 98. Zinkand fled, before turning off U.S. 1 and running stop signs before finally stopping behind a residence whereupon he was arrested.
