Man arrested for arson

A 51-year-old Key Largo, Florida man was arrested Thursday for setting his former place of employment on fire and causing more than $1,000 in damages. There were no serious injuries reported.

Terry Wayne Moore was charged with arson, burglary, and criminal mischief.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to the Pilot House Restaurant & Marina in Key Largo on March 6, 2024, at approximately 7:40 a.m. regarding a burglary and evidence that multiple fires at the business had been intentionally lit.

The investigation revealed Moore was a disgruntled former employee and the suspect. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was booked into jail on Thursday.
